ACP program

  1. Customer calls in and wants either Free internet or discounted internet.

Rep:

Thank you for reaching out, before we start let me ask you some basic questions regarding the program to make sure that you are eligible.

These are some of the standard requirements, let me know if any of these possibly apply:

  • Families who are eligible for government assistance like snap, IC, Medicare, SSI, affordable housing, section 8, American Indians, Alaska natives, native Hawaiians,
  • Based off household income
  • Veterans’ pension/ disabled veterans / veterans on disability or SSI
  • Survivor benefits – widows, surviving divorce, families whos breadwinner has passed away.
  • families who have children who are in the free or reduced price lunches.
  • people who have received a federal pell grant
  • people enrolled in lifeline
  • natives that life on qualifying tribal lands & receives assistance like TANF
  • emancipated minors

If the customer answers yes to any of the above questions, you will then tell them the following:

Based on our answers it looks like you may be eligible for the program, can I get the address that you would like to get service.  (We are targeting Spectrum and Optimum because of the opportunity NOT to have a prepayment).

(we are hoping for no prepayment)

The idea is place an order and then direct the customer to – Getinternet.gov and Apply, within 48 hour they should get their ACP number.  They then have to call support for whatever provider they signed up with and give them that number.  For the most part, the discount is $30 if there is a package available for that price then they will be getting it free, if the package costs more than $30, they will have to pay the difference.

Get familiar with the process by going there:
